Not a dream dictionary

A snake, a house or rising water doesn't mean the same thing for everyone. Jung believed the meaning of a dream lives in the dreamer: your feelings, your life, your story.

So your reading starts with the details of your dream and the way it made you feel, and gently asks what they might be showing you: a part of yourself you've set aside, a feeling you've kept quiet, or a pattern that keeps repeating.

Understanding your dream
The feeling at its heart, its key images explored in the context of your life, and the Jungian lens that fits it best.
Going deeper
A closer look at how the dream made you feel, and where it may be showing up in your waking life right now. This is often where the real insight happens.
Taking it with you
Three journal questions, a small practice to try this week, and what to watch for in your future dreams.
If your dream returns
Order another reading within 30 days and mention your earlier dream. I'll add a bonus section showing how your dreams connect.
A sample reflection

Mopping the Rising Water

The dream: "Water was coming up through the kitchen floor, slowly, and I kept mopping it and making dinner like everything was normal."

Feeling
Strangely calm, and that calm is the part worth noticing.
Compensation
Jung saw dreams as balancing our waking attitude, showing what daily life leaves out. If you're the one who stays composed no matter what, the dream may be showing what that composure is holding down. Mopping won't stop water that comes from beneath. Something may be asking to be felt, not managed.
A question to sit with
What feeling have you been quietly mopping up, so everyone else can have dinner as normal?

This sample is based on an illustrative dream, not a real customer's.

About me

I'm Deborah J. Larson. I write for people who did everything right, and still ended up somewhere they can't explain. My books draw on the work of Carl Jung, and Pattern Journal grew from the same belief: that the patterns in our lives, and in our dreams, are trying to show us something.

What readers are saying
That was really interesting to read, and I like the journal questions you’ve suggested. The insights were really interesting and clarifying. I didn’t really connect the underlying meanings… I don’t think I would’ve put it together on my own.
— I.K.
That was such a perfect analysis! You got everything right and gave me even more to think about.
